The “Salle de Jeux” gets a new lease of life

In November 2020, our association “Sauvegarde du Patrimoine Pontique du Bois-des-Fossés” undertook a major project: the complete re-roofing of the “Salle de Jeux”. This building, now used as a reception and exhibition area, welcomed members of the Du Pont de Nemours family on their visits to Bois-des-Fossés. During these gatherings, sometimes attended by as many as fifty people, the “Salle de Jeux” became an ideal place to display memorabilia linked to the history of the estate.

Over time, the roof showed signs of weakness, threatening the integrity of the building. Thanks to the mobilization of the association and the support of its members, the work was carried out while respecting the original architecture. The work made it possible to secure the building while preserving its authenticity, so that it can continue to welcome our visitors with dignity.

A few photos taken during the restoration project bear witness to the care taken at every stage. They illustrate the importance of our mission: to safeguard, maintain and pass on this unique heritage to future generations.
